Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde has called working on her new film Drinking Buddies as one of the most gratifying experiences of her career.

The actress is back on the big screen this week as she stars in Joe Swanberg's new romantic comedy with a twist.

Wilde liked the contrasting sides to her character of Kate and has enjoyed being part of the independent film.

Speaking to Total Film the actress said: "It’s a passion project that has ended up being the most gratifying experience of my career. It is the best Rorschach test of all time, because people watch it and they immediately project their own experiences on to it.

"I think what makes Kate appealing is that she’s very good at her job. What makes her unappealing is that there’s a lot of chaos, and her tumultuous personal life makes her quite narcissistic. That combined with a lot of alcohol!"

The movie sees Wilde team up with Jake Johnson, Anna Kendrick and Ron Livingston, in a film that looks at the complexities of adult relationships.

Wilde has also completed work on Better Living Through Chemistry and Red Dog, Black Dog: the latter will see her team up with James Franco, Chloe Sevigny and Whoopi Goldberg.

Drinking Buddies is released 1st November. Read out Drinking Buddies Review.
