Olympus Has Fallen has toppled Oblivion from the top of the UK box office.

The movie sees Gerard Butler return to the big screen while Antoine Fuqua is back in the director's chair.

The action movie powered its way to the top spot as it took £2.2 million in the opening weekend.

After just a week at #1 Oblivion, which is top of the box office in the U.S., slipped to number two.

Evil Dead was new in at three as the 1981 horror classic is given a makeover.

A sequel to The Croods is believed to be in the pipeline after the success of the first movies but the former number one was down two places this week at number two.

The Place Beyond The Pines was also down this week as it dropped a single place to round off the top five.

Scary Movie 5 was down three place this week after is dropped from three to six.

Love Is All You Need was the third and final new entry inside the top ten this week as this charming movie opened at number seven.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Jack The Giant Slayer were both down three at eight and nine while Oz the Great and Powerful was also down three from seven to ten.
