Forthcoming film 'Outcast' which stars Nicolas Cage and Hayden Christensen is tipped for sequel.

The 50-year-old actor plays legendary Crusader-turned-bandit, Gallain, in the forthcoming film and 'Resident Evil' producer Jeremy Bolt have already announced plans for a sequel, reports Variety.com.

The American action adventure is directed by Nicholas Powell while James Dormer penned the script.

'Outcast' follows the tale of the heir of the Imperial throne who becomes the target of assassination by his older brother.

The prince is protected by his sister, and needs the help of Crusader, Arken (Hayden Christensen), who must overcome his own personal issues and enlists Gallain's aid to help the boy obtain his rightful place on the throne.

Talking in Beijing on Thursday (17.04.14), Bolt said: "We are planning a worldwide release, including the US and China, in September and October this year.

"'Outcast' has been acclaimed by buyers, and we are determined to make a sequel."

Cage is also set to hit the big screen in this year's 'Left Behind' where he stars opposite Cassi Thomson and Chad Michael Murray and 'Tokarev' alongside Rachel Nichols.
