The Vision is set to be introduced into a Marvel film for the first time next month when Avengers: Age of Ultron his the big screen.

Bettany is no stranger to the Marvel universe, having voice the character of JARVIS. in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3 and Avengers Assemble, now we are going to see him on the big screen for the first time.

Speaking to ScreenRant, Whedon talked about the British actor in this role. He said: "When I first started talking about doing an Avengers movie I was just like, 'I don't know if I should do an Avengers movie, but if you do the second one the villain should be Ultron and he should create Vision, and Bettany has to play it.'

"I was like, 'Look at those cheekbones. Bettany's the Vision.' He has a stillness that goes beyond British, that is something just unique and emotive, and he's going to blow people away."

We have been treated to a whole host of trailers and images from the film in recent weeks but we have not seen much of The Vision in action.

Whedon is back in the director's chair for the film, having penned the screenplay as well as being at the helm. Rumour has it that this will be the final Avengers film for the director.

Bettany is not the only new face on the cast list as James Spader, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Andy Serkis are all also on board as Ultron, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Ulysses Klaw.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is the second big screen outing for Bettany this year, having already starred alongside Johnny Depp in Mortdecai.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is released 23rd April.
