Rebecca Hall says she was drawn to Short Circuit because it was a gripping story.
The actress is set to team up with Eric Bana in the John Crowley directed film later this autumn.
She is set to take on the role Claudia Simmons-Howe in the drama and Hall called the characters in the script both 'interesting' and 'fascinating'.
Speaking with Collider the actress said: "I got sent the script, and then I had a meeting with John Crowley.
"I think I knew pretty much 30 pages into it that it was something that I wanted to do because it’s a gripping story, the characters are intelligent and fascinating, it’s a world that I didn’t know much about and found intriguing, and it’s also so relevant."
Hall has already enjoyed box office success this year as she starred in Iron Man 3 earlier this summer, a movie that went on to gross over $1billion.
The actress has also completed work on A Promise, and is currently filming Transcendence.
Transcendence will mark the directorial debut of Wally Pfister, and will see Hall star alongside Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman.
Closed Circuit is released 1st November.
