Scott brought Prometheus to the big screen back in 2012, and a sequel to the hit sci-fi film is already in the works.

The director is currently doing the promotional rounds for Exodus: Gods and Kings and talked a little about what we can expect from the upcoming film.

Speaking to The Australian, the director said: "Prometheus is fresh and getting away from gods and dragons and shit. If I see one more dragon I'm going to shoot myself. Stop the dragons.

"So with Prometheus 2 what I'm trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act."

The screenplay for Prometheus 2 is currently being worked on, while Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are both expected to return to their roles of David and Elizabeth Shaw.

However, we are not going to see the movie hit the big screen until 2016 - it looks like they will film at some point next year.

As for Scott, Exodus: Gods and Kings sees him return to the swords and sandal epic in what could be the most adventurous movie of his career to date - it is also his first directorial outing since The Counsellor.

The movie tells the story of Moses and how he rose up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses and lead the slaves out of Egypt.

Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton are on board as Moses and Ramses, while Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley, Aaron Paul, and John Turturro are also on board.
