Robert Downey Jr has described Iron Man 3 as the most 'emotionally satisfying' film of the franchise so far.
The Oscar nominated actor is back as Tony Stark in the third Iron Man movie, which comes just a year after the mammoth success of Avengers Assemble.
And Downey Jr says that Iron Man 3 is very much a continuation of that ensemble film.
Speaking to Fandango.com the actor said: "This is the most emotionally satisfying and entertaining of the three.
"The great thing about Iron Man 3 is we are really in continuation of the Avengers.
"We don't have to set up who he is so we can go back to some of the things which made the franchise fly to begin with."
The movie sees Downey Jr reunite with filmmakers Shane Black as he takes over the director's chair from Jon Favreau.
Iron Man is already a billion dollar franchise but Iron Man 3 promises to be the most successful of the series so far.
Iron Man 3 kicks off phase two of Marvel movies that will include Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and conclude with a second Avengers movie.
Iron Man 3 is released 26th April.
