Russell Crowe says it was a mix of the script and director Darren Aronofsky that drew him to Noah.

Crowe will take on the title role of Noah in Aronofsky's latest film, which hits the big screen this week.

The movie is the first time that Crowe has worked with the filmmaker, and admits that he is a huge fan of his work.

Crowe was on the red carpet in London this week to promote the film, where he talked about doing three premieres in one day and working with Aronofsky:

Noah sees Crowe joined by an all star cast including Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth and Ray Winstone; all of whom joined him on the red carpet.

2014 is set to be an exciting year for Crowe, as he is going to be making his directorial debut.

He has completed work on The Water Diviner, which will see him star as well as direct. Jai Courtney and Olga Kurylenko are also on board.

Noah is released 4th April.
