Ryan Gosling is rumoured to be joining the band of superhero actors as he is hotly tipped to be taking on the role of the Green Lantern.The Green Lantern is just the recent in a long line of comic book characters to be adapted for the big screen as Ironman and The Dark Knight enjoyed massive success at the box office this summer.The film looks set to focus on a pilot who is handed a ring that possesses huge power and is expected to reach cinemas in 2010 and is to be directed by Greg Berlanti. Ryan Gosling shot to fame in 2004 when he starred apposite Rachel McAdams in the romantic The Notebook, based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks.He earnt an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in 2006 for his role as a drug-addicted junior high school teacher in Half Nelson.
