Reynolds is set to reprise the title role in the new comic book movie, which has been filming in Vancouver for the last few months.

Now principle photography has been completed Reynolds took to Twitter to thanks the Deadpool fans for their long standing support that lead to the movie ultimately being given the greenlight.

Ever since Reynolds took on the role of Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine back in 2009, there has been calls for the character to get his own solo film - something that Reynolds has always been keen to pursue.

Now we are less than a year away until the movie hits the big screen and I cannot wait to clap eyes on the first trailer - just when that is going to be remains to be seen.

Reynolds leads a terrific cast as Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, and Ed Skrein are all on board, while Tim Miller makes his feature film directorial debut.

Miller has been behind short projects such as Rockfish and Aunt Luisa and is making the leap into features for the first time.

It also remains to be seen if Hugh Jackman will make an appearance as Wolverine in the movie. Just last week Reynolds was hopeful that something could be worked out schedule wise - we are going to have to wait and see if he pops up.

Jackman has appeared in all of the X-Men movies since 2000 - either as a main character or as a cameo - and it would be brilliant to see him continue that trend with Deadpool.

As for Reynolds, before we see him in Deadpool he will be back on the big screen with Self/less and Criminal.

Deadpool is released 12th February 2016.
