SAG Awards Evacuated

Guests at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Sunday (29Jan12) were evacuated from the venue just hours before the glitzy prizegiving due to a security scare.

A host of Hollywood stars including George Clooney, Angelina Jolie and Meryl Streep walked the red carpet at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles for the awards ceremony, which honoured movies including The Help and The Artist.

However, just three hours before the show was due to begin, the venue was completely evacuated due to fears over security.

The building was closed for 15 minutes while sniffer dogs patrolled thearea and guests were eventually allowed back in after undergoing rigorous security checks and metal detector tests, according to Deadline.com.
