Sam Claflin has taken to Twitter to say how lucky he was to be part of The Hunger Games franchise.

Filming on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 wrapped over the weekend, and brings a curtain down on the franchise.

Claflin will reprise the role of Finnick in the final two instalments and has been thrilled to be part of the film series.

Writing on Twitter, the actor said: "I just want [and] need to express my many thanks to everyone who have worked so hard for so long to make The Hunger Games experience what it is," he tweeted, "but for also trusting me enough to let me be part of it.

"I feel privileged, honoured and so very lucky to have shared this opportunity with so many passionate and talented people."

We were introduced to the character of Finnick for the first time in Catching Fire last year, and will be one of the familiar faces returning to the next instalment.

However, there will be some new faces to watch out for as Julianne Moore & Natalie Dormer as President Alma Coin & Cressida in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1.

We are going to be seeing plenty of Claflin on the big screen this year, as Love Rosie and The Riot Club are also set for released.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is released 21st November.
