Screenwriter Chris Roessner teams with director Fernando Coimbra to bring new Netflix original movie Sand Castle to streamers across the globe later this year, with stars Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road), Henry Cavill (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) and Logan Marshall-Green (Spider-Man: Homecoming) leading the cast.

Built on the foundations of Roessner’s real life experiences in Iraq, the film aims to present an honest look at the Second Gulf War, told through the eyes of a group of American soldiers fighting on the front line. Netflix have revealed the first official trailer for the movie, which you can see below:

Hoult plays Private Matt Ocre, a man who’s sent with several other soldiers to the outskirts of Baqubah to repair a water pumping station damaged by American bombs. The journey ahead however is a dangerous one, with resentment and anger festering in areas the soldiers simply want to help. Here, he and his colleagues will discover the true cost of war.

Beau Knapp (The Nice Guys), Glen Powell (Everybody Wants Some!!) and Neil Brown Jr. (Straight Outta Compton) also star.

Sand Castle comes exclusively to Netflix around the world on April 21, 2017.
