Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock has described making Gravity as the rebirth in her excitement in filmmaking.

Bullock is back on the big screen this week as Dr Ryan Stone, who finds herself floating in space after a space walk goes wrong.

Gravity sees the actress team up with director Alfonso Cuaron and she enjoyed the collaborative experience that she had with him.

The actress said: "I've been granted many times to have different experiences [in my career]. There's the work and there's a career. I can't control the career aspect because it's all about timing and other things.

"For me, it was a rebirth in my excitement at filmmaking and my part in it. Alfonso didn't have to be collaborative, but he's one of the most collaborative people I've worked with. So it was a rebirth in my faith in why I chose this profession."

Gravity is already one of the most talked about movies of the year as it lit up the festival circuit this autumn.

Bullock has teamed up with George Clooney for the film as they work together for the first time.

Gravity is already being tipped as one of the major Oscar players.

Gravity is released 7th November.
