Second Coming

Award winning British playwright Debbie Tucker Green has made the leap into the film with Second Coming and this will mark her feature film directorial debut.

Debbie Tucker Green has penned the screenplay as well as being in the director's chair and follows on from working in shorts and television.

Second Coming is set to be one of the British dramas not to miss if you are a fan of this genre and here is the brand new trailer for you to take a look at:

Elba is set to take on the role of Mark in the film, and is joined on the cast list by Nadine Marshall and youngster Kai Francis-Lewis. Francis-Lewis is one to potentially look out for over the next few years as he is making his big screen debut with Second Coming.

Jackie (Marshall) is expecting her second child but the maths doesn't quite add up. It's been months since she last slept with her husband Mark (Elba), so she knows it can't be his. But she also knows she hasn't been with anyone else. Prior to Jackie's discovery, she, Mark and son JJ (Francis-Lewis) are a close-knit middle-class family living in London. And then comes Jackie's seemingly immaculate conception.

Afraid of Mark's reaction, she says nothing. But she knows it's only a matter of time until she can't conceal the truth any more. As the child inside her starts to grow, so does everyone's concern for her state of mind, until it's not only the father of the child that is in question, but Jackie's sanity as well.

We have already been treated to some terrific big screen British drama so far this year, and Second Coming will continue that trend as Debbie Tucker Green announces herself as a new and exciting name in British cinema.

Second Coming is released 5th June.
