Shane Black

Shane Black says that audiences of Iron Man 3 can expect more of a 'stew' of things.

Black is back in the director's chair as he takes over the helm of the Iron Man franchise for the first time; a move that sees him reunite with Robert Downey Jr.

And he says that the tone will change throughout the movie from suspenseful to funny as they 'tried to juggle the balls a little'.

The director also praised his co-writer Drew Pearce and revealed that he enjoyed working with him.

This is the first big screen outing for Black as director since he made his debut with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang back in 2005.

Downey Jr is back as Tony Stark while Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle will also be reprising their roles of Pepper Potts and James Rhodes.

Black has introduced the character of the Mandarin to the franchise for the first time - played by Ben Kingsley while Guy Pearce and Rebecca Hall are other new additions to the cast list.
