Black is set to return to the director's chair with The Predator, which will bring this alien/action franchise to the big screen. As well as being in the director's chair, Black has also teamed up with Fred Dekker to pen the film's screenplay.

And Black has given tiny hints as to what we can expect from the upcoming film, which is still in pre-production.

Speaking to IGN, the director said: "The worst thing you could hope for in one of these is a shot in bright sunlight of a field and the Predator just kind of walks on and 'hello' - you want to do... I keep going back to Ridley Scott, the way he captured the alien in that first movie. The sense of mystery and portent.

"If we could just cut into a little piece of that - that sort of vibe - and then I think there's humour to be had too. And tonal shifting."

The Predator is going to be a sequel to the 1987 film but not cast members have been announced yet.

The Predator will be the fourth feature film of Black's career - he has already brought is Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, and The Nice Guys.

The Predator is not the only film that Black has in the pipeline as he is also set to direct Doc Savage. Dwayne Johnson is on board in the title role.

The Predator is released 2nd March 2018.
