SPOILER ALERT

Simon Kinberg has talked about the post-credit scene of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

At the end of Days of Future Past we get our first look at a young Apocalypse, as we are taken back to Ancient Egypt to see him build the Pyramids of Giza.

However, producer Kinberg says that this is just a tease and X-Men: Apocalypse will not take place in ancient Egypt.

Speaking to IGN, Kinberg said: "The post-credit sequence is a tease into what will be the Apocalypse movie. Now the Apocalypse you see - that young boy - may not be the actor who plays the character in our movie.

"It’s a deep back story glimpse into the character, but our movie doesn’t take place in ancient Egypt and will likely not star a young boy Apocalypse."

Work on the X-Men: Apocalypse script is already underway: Bryan Singer, Michael Dougherty, Dan Harris and Kinberg have teamed up to pen the screenplay.

While no official cast list for the film has been announced, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult & Jennifer Lawrence are expected to return.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is out now.
