The note - which will be available exclusively on ebay.co.uk - has been created using technology from British company De La Rue and forms part of a special initiative to celebrate 40 years of British creativity behind the 'Star Wars' films.

All money raised will be donated to Together for Short Lives through 'Star Wars: Force for Change' - a charitable initiative from Lucasfilm and Disney.

Only 1,000 commemorative notes will be available - all priced at £100 - and a further 50 premium notes will be up for auction.

Each of the special notes will incorporate an original light side/dark side artwork composition and several special features including serial numbers, pattern work of the First Order and Resistance emblems, hidden scenes and messages and the signature of 'The Last Jedi' filmmaker Rian Johnson.

Johnson said: "It's incredibly exciting to be part of this one of a kind initiative to mark the release of 'The Last Jedi' and for such a fantastic cause. It was a joy filming in the UK and working with a British crew and I'm delighted the GREAT Britain Campaign and De La Rue are celebrating this with the commemorative note."

The 'Star Wars' franchise - which was kicked off by 'Episode IV: A New Hope' back in 1977 - was originally filmed at Elstree Studios, in Borehamwood, and the latest instalment was filmed in the UK using British talent in both production and cast.

'The Last Jedi' - which is set for release this December - stars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (General Leia Organa), Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Lupita Nyong'o (Maz Kanata), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Andy Serkis (Snoke) and Domhnall Gleeson (General Lux).

The special notes will be available from 8pm this Thursday (07.12.17).
