Steven Soderbergh
Steven Soderbergh has donated $10,000 to Spike Lee's Kickstarter campaign.
Spike Lee, along with David Lynch and Jim Jarmusch, were three of the filmmakers that inspired and influenced Soderbergh in the early stages of his career.
Writing on Lee's Kickstarter page he said: "These were distinctive new voices, and the freedom (and success) they represented was liberating and energizing; these were shoulders I would try to stand on, that I would be proud to stand on."
Lee is trying to raise $1.25 million in order to cover the cost of his upcoming project - a movie that is as yet untitled.
Lee started the Kickstarter campaign on 22nd July and it will run until 21st August.
As for Soderbergh we saw his last film hit the big screen earlier this year in the form of Behind the Candelabra.
While he may have a hand in other films - Magic Mike 2 being the big one - he is set to step away from the director's chair.
