Straight Outta Compton, the music biopic that follows the rise of NWA, hit the big screen on Friday and has enjoyed success over the weekend. The movie is not top of both the U.S. and UK box office.

The film took £2.4 million in its first weekend to hold off the challenge from Inside Out, which was also battling to get back to the top spot.

However, there was no move for the Pixar film, as it stayed put at number two. Inside Out has taken over £30 million in the UK alone and has now grossed over $700 million worldwide.

Hitman: Agent 47 was the second new entry inside the top five as it opened at number three. The movie is based on the popular computer game and this is the second time that it has been adapted for the big screen.

Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation was another non-mover this week as the Tom Cruise film stayed put at number four. Pixels was one of two movies on the up this week as it jumped a single place from six to number five.

Sinister 2 dropped out of the top five this week as the horror sequel fell four places from three to number seven. However, it was former number one Paper Towns that was this week's biggest faller. The movie, which is based on the novel of the same name by John Green, was down seven places from one to this week's number eight.

Minions was the second film to move up a spot as it climbed from ten to number nine. Over the weekend, Minions became the fourth film to gross over $1 billion this year; following in the footsteps of Jurassic World, Fast & Furious 7, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

45 Years, which sees Charlotte Rampling team up with Tom Courtenay, was the third and final new entry as it opened at number ten. The drama has been met with critical acclaim and is being tipped as a possible Oscar contender.
