The BFG is one of the most anticipated films of the summer as Steven Spielberg returns to the director's chair.

The BFG

The BFG

The BFG, which is an adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel of the same name, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival over the weekend, where it has been winning over critics and audiences.

A brand new trailer for the film has been unveiled and we have it for you to take a look at:

The movie sees Spielberg reunite with actor Mark Rylance, who is set to take on the title role. This is their second film project together and comes after Rylance won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in Bridge of Spies.

While Rylance is no stranger to the big screen, The BFG is set to be the biggest film role of his career to date and will send his star rocketing even further.

The movie will also introduce us to the acting talents of Ruby Barnhill, who takes on the role of Sophie. While she has starred in television series $ O'Clock Club, this film will mark her big screen debut.

Rylance and Barnhill are joined on the cast list by Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader, Jemaine Clement, Penelope Wilton, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.

The BFG is the exciting tale of a young London girl and the mysterious Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country.

This is the first time that the story of the BFG has been given a live-action makeover and I cannot wait to see what Spielberg delivers later this summer... it really is promising to be a treat.

The BFG is released 22nd July.
