Mark Wahlberg is back on the big screen this week as he leads the cast in new film The Gambler - and we have a brand new clip as the film is released today.

The Gambler sees Wahlberg team up with filmmaker Rupert Wyatt for the first time and this is the director's first outing since the success of Rise of the Planet of the Apes back in 2011. This time around, he is leaving the big budget blockbuster behind to tackle the crime drama.

Wahlberg is set to take on the central role of gambler Jim Bennett, and he features in this latest clip alongside John Goodman:

Wyatt has brought together a terrific cast list for the film, as Wahlberg and Goodman are joined by Jessica Lange, Brie Larson, and Michael Kenneth Williams.

Jim Bennett (Wahlberg) is a risk taker. Both an English professor and a high-stakes gambler, Bennett bets it all when he borrows from a gangster (Williams) and offers his own life as collateral. Always one-step ahead, Bennett pits his creditor against the operator of a gambling ring (Alvin Ing) and leaves his dysfunctional relationship with his wealthy mother (Lange) in his wake.

He plays both sides, immersing himself in an illicit, underground world while garnering the attention of Frank (Goodman), a loan shark with a paternal interest in Bennett's future. As his relationship with a student (Larson) deepens, Bennett must take the ultimate risk for a second chance...

The Gambler is out now.
