The Grand Budapest Hotel

The Grand Budapest Hotel

The Grand Budapest Hotel leads the Bafta nominations have picked up nods in eleven categories this morning.

Stephen Fry was joined by Sam Claflin in London to announce the nominations for the 2015 Baftas, and it was the Wes Anderson directed film that came out on top.

The Grand Budapest Hotel was nominated in the major categories, including Best Film, Best Director for Anderson and Best Actor for Ralph Fiennes.

Best Actor is going to be a hard fought category as Fiennes is joined alongside fellow Brits Benedict Cumberbatch and Eddie Redmayne, while Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Keaton were also on the mix.

Birdman and Theory of Everything were also big winners this morning as they both picked up ten nominations, The Imitation Game has nine, while Boyhood and Whiplash both picked up five a piece.

Best Film sees Birdman, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, and Theory of Everything are all set to go head to head in what will be another tight and excited category.

While Steve Carell has picked up Best Actor nods at the Golden Globes and SAG, he was in the Best Supporting Actor category this morning for his performance in Foxcatcher. He is joined by co-star Mark Ruffalo, Ethan Hawke, Edward Norton, and J.K. Simmons.

Felicity Jones, Julianne Moore, Reese Witherspoon, and Rosamund Pike have already picked up Golden Globe and SAG nominations for Best Actress and are once again in the mix. However, it is Amy Adams that joins them instead of Jennifer Aniston.

As well as a Best Film category, Bafta recognises the best in British Film with '71, The Imitation Game, Paddington, Pride, The Theory of Everything, and Under The Skin all being recognised.
