Wong has been behind movies such as My Blueberry Nights, and 2046 during his directing career, and The Grandmaster is one of his most anticipated films.

The Grandmaster is a movie that has been six years in the planning and three years in the making, and is set to be an action packed ride this December.

Tony Chiu Wai Leung takes on the central role of Ip Man, while Wai Leung, Ziyi Zhang, Jin Zhang make up a very excited and talented cast list.

The Grandmaster is an epic action feature inspired by the life and times of the legendary kung fu master, Ip Man.

The story spans the tumultuous Republican era that followed the fall of China's last dynasty, a time of chaos, division and war that was also the golden age of Chinese martial arts.

Filmed in a range of stunning locations that include the snow - swept landscapes of Northeast China and the subtropical South, The Grandmaster features virtuoso performances by some of the greatest stars of contemporary cinema.

The Grandmaster is released 5th December.
