The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book continues to perform well as it took over $42 million this weekend to remain unchallenged at the top of the box office. The movie marks the return of Jon Favreau to the director's chair and has been thrilling critics and audiences worldwide.

The movie is another huge box office hit for Disney and follows in the footsteps of Maleficent and Cinderella in recent years.

The Jungle Book is already closing in on the $700 million mark worldwide, taking over $688 million so far... it is already on course to be one of the biggest movies of 2016 so far.

The Huntsman: Winter's War was another none mover as it stayed put at number two... however, it did come under some strong competition from new entry Keanu.

Keanu was the highest new entry inside the top ten this week, as it opened at number three. The movie took $9,35 million and narrowly missed out on the second spot.

Mother's Day was the second new entry at four as Garry Marshall returned to the director's chair. This is the third holiday movie for Marshall and comes after Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve in recent years. He has brought together another terrific cast list as Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, and Kate Hudson are just some of the names that are on board.

Barbershop: The Next Cut was down two to round off the top five. Zootropolis, which has been another huge success for Disney so far this year, fell out of the top five for the first time as it slipped two places from four to number six.

Animation film Ratchet & Clank was the third and final new entry at number seven while The Boss was a three place faller at number eight.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Criminal were also down three places as they finished the weekend at nine and ten.
