The Magnificent Seven is a movie that is getting a makeover this year as Antoine Fuqua returns to the director's chair... the brand new poster for the film has been unveiled.

The Magnificent Seven

Fuqua has brought us movies such as Southpaw, the Equalizer, and Olympus Has Fallen in recent years and The Magnificent Seven sees him turn his hand to the Western genre for the first time.

The Magnificent Seven sees Fuqua reunite with Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington - they have previously worked together on The Equalizer and Training Day - and it is great to see them working together again.

Washington is set to take on the central role of Sam Chisolm and is joined on the cast list by Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee, Matt Bomer, Luke Grimes, Sean Bridgers, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Martin Sensmeier and Peter Sarsgaard - it really is a terrific, exciting, and talented cast list.

With the sleepy town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns - Sam Chisolm (Washington), Josh Farraday (Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Hawke), Jack Horne (D'Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Lee), Vasquez (Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Sensmeier).

As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.

It was back in 1960 when The Magnificent Seven, which as based on the Japanese film Seven Samura, hit the big screen and has gone on to be an iconic film in the Western genre. While I am a little nervous about the remake, I can't wait to see what Fuqua delivers.

The Magnificent Seven is released later this year.
