The Railway Man

The Railway Man

If you haven’t seen the trailer yet then you really should check it out as it promises to be a very emotional and powerful with a great central performance from Firth.

The Railway Man is based on the autobiography of Eric Lomax - Firth takes on the role of Lomax in the film - and sees Jonathan Teplitzky in the director’s chair.

This is just the fourth feature film in Teplitzky’s directing career and the first since Burning Man back in 2011.

Firth leads a fantastic all-star cast as he as Nicole Kidman, Stellan Skarsgard, Jeremy Irvine and Hiroyuki Sanada; they all feature in a set of beautiful new character posters.

The movie follows Eric Lomax (played as a young man by Irvine), a British Army officer who is tormented as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labour camp during World War II.

Decades later, Lomax (Firth) discovers that the Japanese interpreter he holds responsible for much of his treatment is still alive and sets out to confront him, and his haunting past.

The Railway Man is released 10th January 2014.
