Tilda Swinton says that she is not upset about being overlooked at the Oscars.

Swinton's role in We Need To Talk About Kevin has been raved about since the middle of last year and a Best Actress nod looked a certainty.

But the Lynne Ramsey directed movie was totally overlooked when the Oscar nominations were revealed earlier this week.

Speaking to The Press Association the actress said: "I wasn't disappointed.

"I didn't know for hours, but someone was telling me apparently everyone else was disappointed.

"I had very low expectations, so perhaps my expectations were a bit lower than everybody else."

Meryl Streep, Michelle Williams, Glenn Close, Viola Davis and Rooney Mara will battle it out for the Best Actress Oscar.

Moonrise Kingdom will be Swinton's next movie project.
