Todd Phillips says he likes making movies about people who make 'bad decisions' and that will continue with his new film War Dogs.

War Dogs marks the return of Phillips to the director's chair for his first feature film since The Hangover Part III back in 2013.

The movie sees Phillips stick with the comedy genre but adds in elements of drama and thriller - he has teamed up with Stephen Chin and Jason Smilovic to pen the film's screenplay.

Speaking to USA Today about the movie, the filmmaker said: "I like making movies about bad decisions.

"This is the ultimate story about these two guys making some key bad decisions in their lives - seeing an angle and exploiting that angle but going too far."

War Dogs tells the true story of David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli, who won a $300 million contract from the Pentagon to arm America's allies in Afghanistan.

The movie sees Jonah Hill team up with Miles Teller take on the central roles of Efraim and David. The duo is joined on the cast list by Ana de Armas, JB Blanc, and Shaun Toub.

War Dogs marks the first time that Phillips will have worked with Hill and Teller, whose stars have really rocketed in the last couple of years.

Phillips has been behind some great comedy movies in his career so far, and I am looking forward to seeing what he delivers with War Dogs.

War Dogs is released 26th August.
