Tom Felton is to star opposite Joseph Fiennes in 'Clavius'.

The 'Harry Potter' actor and the 'Hercules' star have joined the cast of Kevin Reynolds' forthcoming biblical blockbuster, Deadline reports.

The movie sees Fiennes play the titular Roman centurion who is ordered by Pontius Pilate to investigate rumours Jesus has risen from the dead and to track down his allegedly missing body.

As he investigates, Clavius' doubts about the happenings begin to waver when he meets with Jesus' apostles and other people in Jerusalem.

While Fiennes will take on the lead role, it is as yet unclear who Felton will play.

However, he will not be portraying Pontius Pilate as reports state the director - who has penned the script for the film along with Paul Aiello - is still looking for someone to take on the role.

The film is expected to be released around Easter 2015.

Fiennes has recently worked with Nicole Kidman on 'Strangerland' and is also attached to star in supernatural thriller 'The Unholy', while Felton has two movies, 'Ghosts of the Pacific' and 'Grace and Danger', awaiting release.
