Tom Hiddleston has called the role of Hank Williams a 'huge responsibility'.

Hiddleston has landed the part of musician Williams in a brand new biopic about the singer.

I Saw The Light will see the actor show off his musical skills, as he will sing and play the guitar in the film.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the actor said: "Hank’s life has a tragic arc, but in simple truth, he was a genius: a star that burned twice as bright and lived half as long.

"It’s a huge role for me and a huge responsibility. I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.

"I've already started singing and playing every day".

I Saw The Light will see Hiddleston team up with director Marc Abraham, and filming on the movie will get underway in Louisiana in the autumn.

This is just one of the projects that Hiddleston has in the pipeline, as he is also set to star in High-Rise, the latest film from director Ben Wheatley.

He has also completed work on Guillermo de Toro's new film Crimson Peak.
