The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has stormed to the top of the U.S. box office taking $141.3 million in its opening weekend.

This makes Breaking Dawn - Part 2 the eighth biggest opening weekend of all time as it surpassed the what Breaking Dawn - Part 1 took this time last year.

This film brings the franchise to a close four years after it hit the big screen for the very first time.

While Skyfall was unable to challenge for the top spot this week the film took a further $41.5 million to drop just a single place into second.

Not only is the movie winning fans and critics over worldwide but the movie is not being talked about as a possible Oscar nomination contender.

Steven Spielberg's new biopic movie Lincoln jumped a whopping twelve place this week as it went from fifteen to number three.

This is another film that is surrounded in Oscar talk as Daniel Day Lewis is in the title role.

Wreck It Ralph dropped two places this week to four while Flight was also down two as it rounded off the top five.

Ben Affleck's latest directorial effort Argo continues to do well but it dropped out of the top five this week as it fell from four to six. Taken 2 was also a two place faller at seven.

Comedy movies Pitch Perfect and Here Comes the Boom were both none movers at eight and nine while Cloud Atlas was the biggest faller as it dropped four places from six to ten.
