Macbeth is already one of the most talked about movies of the autumn and there's still four weeks to go before the film hits the big screen. We have already been treated to a great new trailer this week... and now two new posters for the film have been unveiled.

Macbeth

Macbeth marks the return of Michael Fassbender to the big screen as he takes on the title role in this new adaptation of the well-known William Shakespeare play. The movie sees him team up with Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard for the first time - she will take on the role of Lady Macbeth - and it looks like they are going to make quite an acting duo.

Both Fassbender and Cotillard are winning over critics and audiences with their performances and are already being tipped as possible Oscar contenders - it really would be great to see Fassbender in the Best Actor Oscar race for the very first time.

Macbeth sees Justin Kurzel back in the director's chair for the first time since he make his feature film debut with Snowtown back in 2011. Jacob Koskoff, Michael Lesslie, and Todd Louiso are also on board, having teamed up to adapt the Shakespeare play into a screenplay.

Macbeth is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of literature's most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition set in war torn Scotland.

Macbeth has been whipping up a storm ever since it competed for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year and is set to be a dark and powerful adaptation of a story that we all know so well. I really cannot wait to see what Fassbender and Cotillard deliver in the central roles.

Macbeth is released 2nd October.
