The 'Line of Duty' actress thought it was funny when fans launched a campaign for her to be the next 007 when Daniel Craig eventually leaves the role of the suave spy, but admits she is unlikely for it to happen.

She said: "I am happy to talk about that.

"Yes, let's do it [play Bond].

"I found whole Bond thing very funny. I can't see it happening. We can hope, but I can't see it. I think that was just because people saw me on the side of a lorry [in 'Line of Duty']. I did all my own stunts."

The 33-year-old actress - who is in a relationship with actor-and-director Jonny Owen - admitted she finds it frustrating that the scripts she receives are regularly for a motherly role, especially when she herself is proof that there is more to women over 30 than just having children.

She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I am getting to that age when [the parts I am offered are for a] 'mother-of-three'. I am like, 'Wow. That is not our only purpose. There are other roles.

"It is not even annoying, it is just reality.

"You get to that point where actually all of my characters will potentially have children or be at that stage in their life. I am living proof that that doesn't have to be the case. I am not doing that, which is completely fine."

The 'This Is England' star insists she isn't always looking to play "strong" women, but she wouldn't be happy to have a role as simply a supportive partner as she always wants to be someone with a purpose.

She said: "I am not constantly looking for that feminist role. It is important to put females at the front [but] they don't have to be strong females all the time. There has to be a purpose and a reason."
