It was back in 2002 when Diesel took on the role of Xander cage for the first time in action film xXx and while a second film has hit the big screen since then, the popular actor was not on board.

But now Diesel has reached out to his fans once again and announced on Instagram that a new film is in the pipeline and the cameras will start rolling at the end of the year.

There is still no word on a director for the film, but John D. Brancato, Michael Ferris, and Rich Wilkes are on board to pen the screenplay. As well as being on the cast list, Diesel is also set to produce the film.

2015 has already been a busy and successful year for Diesel as Fast & Furious 7 was a massive box office smash back in April. It was the first film in the franchise to break the $1 billion barrier as fans flocked to see the final film from Paul Walker.

An eighth film looks like it is in the pipeline with Diesel back as Dominic Toretto. No director is on board the project currently.

Diesel will be back on the big screen this autumn with The Last Witch Hunter, which sees him star alongside Elijah Wood, Rose Leslie, and Michael Caine.

The movie will see the actor team up with director Breck Eisner and will see him play the last witch hunter and is all that stand between humanity and some horrifying witches. A sequel is already in the pipeline.

There is currently no word on when we may see the new xXx movie hit the big screen.
