X-Men: Apocalypse

X-Men: Apocalypse

The release of the new X-Men movie creeps closer and it promises to be the biggest and most exciting instalment yet, as Bryan Singer returns to the director's chair.

Michael Fassbender, Alexandra Shipp, Olivia Munn, and Ben Hardy takes on the roles of Magneto, Story, Psylocke, and Angel - they take centre stage and look ready for battle as Apocalypse looks on.

Oscar Isaac will take on the title role and he - along with Shipp, Munn, and Hardy - are big new additions to the cast list. Fassbender has been with the franchise since the success of First Class and it is great to see him back.

X-Men: Apocalypse is the first X-Men movie since the critical and commercial success of Days of Future Past in 2014 - it is also the first time that we have seen Singer in the director's chair since the release of that film.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be the fourth X-Men movie for the filmmaker and he really has been the driving force behind the success of this franchise over the years.

Fassbender, Shipp, Munn, Hardy, and Isaac will be joined on the cast list by James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, and Sophie Turner. They will fight on the side of good as they take on the roles of Charles Xavier, Mystique, Beast, Cyclops, and Jean Grey.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign.

As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse is released 18th May.
