Zootropolis

Zootropolis is the fifty-fifth animated feature film from Disney and has been thrilling audiences and critics worldwide since its release back in March.

It looked like the was film was going to possibly lose its crown as the 'Highest Grossing Film of 2016' to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice... but that has not happened just yet.

Zootropolis remains the highest grossing film with $907.1 million and Dawn of Justice is just behind on $851.6 million. If anything, Zootropolis continues to gather momentum - it will be interesting to see if it can reach that mark of $1 billion over the next few weeks.

The movie continues a good run of form for Disney with Wreck-It-Ralph, Frozen, and Big Hero 6 all enjoying big success in recent years.

Zootropolis comes just a year after Big Hero 6 grossed over $657 million and picked up the Best Animated Feature Oscar. Zootropolis will be in the Oscar mix come next year and is already a frontrunner to triumph.

Byron Howard, Rich Moore, and Jared Bush are in the director's chair for the film while Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, and Octavia Spencer are just some of the names that make up the impressive voice cast.

Zootropolis is the first of two Disney movies that we are going to be treated to this year as Moana will be released towards the end of 2016.

Zootropolis is still in UK cinemas.
