Much Ado About Nothing

Much Ado About Nothing

Joss Whedon is one of the most exciting and versatile directors working in Hollywood at the moment and every movie that he makes is a treat.

He enjoyed huge success with Avengers Assemble last summer and now he is back with a totally different project... a William Shakespeare adaptation.

Yes Whedon will be bring his take of Much Ado About Nothing to the big screen in June - as I said it could be a more different movie to his last project.

This is a contemporary take on the Shakespeare classic and shows Whedon's writing skills on show once again.

And we have the brand new UK trailer for the movie for you to take a look at:

A great cast has been assembled for the movie as Whedon reunites with Clark Gregg and Nathan Fillion - who he has worked with on Avengers Assemble and Serenity.

Amy Acker, Emma Bates, Alexis Denisof are all on board while we are introduced to newcomer Jillian Morgese.

The film was shot in just twelve days and shows a very different side to Whedon as a filmmaker.

Leonato (Gregg), the governor of Messina, is visited by his friend Don Pedro (Reed Diamond), who is returning from a victorious campaign against his rebellious brother Don John (Sean Maher).

Accompanying Don Pedro are two of his officers: Benedick (Alexis Denisof) and Claudio (Fran Kranz).

While in Messina, Claudio falls for Leonato's daughter Hero (Morgese), and Benedick verbally spars with Beatrice (Acker), the governor's niece. The budding love between Claudio and Hero prompts Don Pedro to arrange, with Leonato, their marriage.

In the days leading up to the ceremony, Don Pedro, with the help of Leonato, Claudio and Hero, attempts to sport with Benedick and Beatrice in an effort to trick the two into falling in love.

Meanwhile, the villainous Don John, with the help of his allies Conrade (Riki Lindhome) and Borachio (Spencer Treat Clark), plots against the happy couple, using his own form of trickery to try to destroy the marriage before it begins.

A series of comic and tragic events may continue to keep the two couples from truly finding happiness, but then again perhaps love may prevail.

It has been enjoying some success on the festival circuit and Much Ado About Nothing is set to be a breath of fresh air when it hits cinemas this summer.
