It has been two years since we have seen Guillermo del Toro in the director's chair and this autumn he is set to return with his new gothic horror movie Crimson Peak.

Crimson Peak

Crimson Peak

No one knows how to do gothic horror like del Toro and it is one of this month's movies that I am looking forward to the most - it is great to see this visionary filmmaker back at the helm of a movie.

We haven't been treat to too many great horror movies this year, but Crimson Peak looks set to be a creepy and rather unsettling ride as del Toro bring together a fantastic cast list.

Mia Wasikowska is set to take on the central role of Edith Cushing and she star alongside Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam, Doug Jones, and Burn Gorman.

There's just over a week to go until Crimson Peak hits the big screen and we have a trio of great new clips for you to take a look at:

Crimson Peak marks the first time that Hiddleston and Wasikowska have teamed up with del Toro, while this is a second consecutive film project for Hunnam; the pair worked together on Pacific Rim. Del Toro served as producer on Chastain's movie Mama, but this is the first time that the Oscar nominated actress has been directed by him.

When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak... a house that breathes, bleeds, and remembers.

Guillermo del Toro is one of my favourite filmmakers around and he has delivered fantastic movies such as Pan's Labyrinth and the Devil's Backbone during his career. It is always exciting when a del Toro movie is on the horizon and I cannot wait to see what he has in store for us this time around.

Crimson Peak is released 16th October.
