Diana

Diana

We are going to be seeing plenty of biopic movies hitting the big screen between now and the end of the year - and there are some fantastic movies in this genre on the horizon.

One that is not to be missed is Diana as Oscar nominated actress Naomi Watts takes on the title role; if you haven’t seen any images you really should check them out as she looks amazing.

The film sees Watts team up with director Oliver Hirschbiegel in a movie that follows the last two years of the princesses’ life.

And we have the brand new trailer for you to take a look at:

Watts is one of the best actresses of her generation and it is great to see such a fantastic and experienced actress get the chance to take on such a complex character.

Naveen Andrews takes on the role of Hasnat Khan, while Cas Anvar, Laurence Belcher and Harry Holland are all also on the cast list.

Princess Diana, at one time the most famous woman in the world, inspired a nation with her generosity, compassion and kindness - and in her final years she would meet the man who, in turn, inspired her.

When Diana met Doctor Hasnat Khan (Andrews), she found someone who could see beyond the exterior, to the vulnerable and complex woman underneath.

An incredible source of strength to her, it was during this relationship that Diana accomplished some of her most rewarding and successful humanitarian work. As Diana fell in love with Dr Khan, she didn’t just feel like a Princess - but like the woman she truly was.

In a story that until now has remained untold, Diana introduces a time in the Princess’s life that was uniquely important in shaping her final years, fulfilling her search for true happiness and sealing her legacy.

Diana looks set to lift the curtain on a very interesting and complex woman as she searches for love - it is set to be one of the most powerful biopic films of the second half of the year.

We could well be seeing a string of biopic performances up for Oscars by the beginning of 2014, and Naomi Watts could well be in the mix once again.

Diana is released 20th September.
