Prisoners

Prisoners

Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal will be teaming up this autumn as they work together for the first time in Prisoners.

Prisoners has taken the Telluride Film Festival by storm over the weekend and both Jackman and Gyllenhaal have been tipped by some as possible Oscar contenders.

Dennis Villeneuve is in the director’s chair for the film for what will be his first movie since Incendies back in 2011.

Prisoners is a movie that we are already very excited here at FemaleFirst and we have the brand new trailer for you to check out:

Both Jackman and Gyllenhaal have been nominated for Oscars in the past and I personally cannot wait to see them star together for the first time.

But it is not just about Gyllenhaal and Jackman as Paul Dano, Maria Bello, Melissa Leo, Terrence Howard and Viola Davis are all also on board; it really is one of the most impressive cast lists of the autumn.

The critics at the Telluride Film Festival are raving about this movie and the momentum is set to grown as it heads to the Toronto Film Festival later this month.

Keller Dover is facing every parent's worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been parked on their street.

Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect's release.

Knowing his child's life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands.

The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?

Prisoners promises to be a dark and tense movie that will show Jackman, Gyllenhaal and the rest of the cast at their very best.

Prisoners is released 27th September.
