The Imitation Game is set to hit the big screen tomorrow and it is one of the standout films on the autumn schedule - it is a film that has already got the critics in a bit of a tizzy.

The Imitation Game

The Imitation Game

The Imitation Game is set during the Second World War and introduces us to mathematician and logician Alan Turing, who was instrumental in the cracking of the Enigma Code. Benedict Cumberbatch takes on the role of Turing in the film, in what is going to be a career defining performance from the actor.

If you are looking to see the movie this weekend, we have two terrific new clips to share with you and whet your appetite further:

Cumberbatch is already being tipped as a possible Best Actor Oscar contender for his central performance - a performance that everyone is raving about. Before the release of The Imitation Game, Cumberbatch was already a star, but this is the movie that will truly establish him as a bona fide leading man.

An all-stat cast has been assembled as Keira Knightly, Charles Dance, Mark Strong, Matthew Goode, Allen Leech, and Rory Kinnear will also star.

The Imitation Game is based on the book Andrew Hodges and sees Morten Tyldum return to the director's chair. Tyldum has been behind films such as Fallen Angels and Buddy, but this is his first feature film since the critical success of Headhunters back in 2012.

The Imitation Game is a nail-biting race against time following Alan Turing (pioneer of modern-day computing and credited with cracking the German Enigma code) and his brilliant team at Britain's top-secret code-breaking centre, Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War II.

Turing, whose contributions and genius significantly shortened the war, saving thousands of lives, was the eventual victim of an unenlightened British establishment, but his work and legacy live on.

The Imitation Game has been one of the movies that I have been looking forward to all year, and it looks set to be one of the dramas that is not to be missed this autumn. Some of the critics are already calling it a classic!!!

The Imitation Game is released 14th November.
