Only God Forgives

Only God Forgives

Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn proved that they were a formidable actor/director team when they delivered Drive in 2011... and now they are back.

Only God Forgives marks their second project together as Refn is in the director's chair for the first time since Drive.

The movie is dark and violent and features another fantastic performance from Oscar nominated Gosling.

There is a week to go until the release of the film, and we have a trio of fantastic clips for you to check out:

Nicolas Winding Refn is one of the most maverick filmmakers around at the moment and he has made some terrific films in recent years - Drive and Bronson being the two that particularly stand out.

His writing skills are also on show with Only God Forgives as he has also penned the screenplay for the film.

He has assembled a terrific cast for the film as Gosling is joined by Kristin Scott Thomas, Vithaya Pansringarm and Rhatha Phongam are all on board.

Bangkok. Julian (Gosling) runs a Thai boxing club as a front for a drugs operation. He has everything he wants for and is respected in the criminal underworld though, deep inside, he feels empty.

When Julian's brother murders a prostitute the police call on retired cop Chang - the Angel of Vengeance (Pansringarm). Chang allows the father to kill his daughter's murderer, then 'restores order' by chopping off the man's right hand.

Julian's mother Jenna (Thomas) - the head of a powerful criminal organization - arrives in Bangkok to collect her son's body. She dispatches Julian to find his killers and 'raise hell'.

Increasingly obsessed with the Angel of Vengeance, Julian challenges him to a boxing match, hoping that by defeating him he might find spiritual release… but Chang triumphs.

A furious Jenna plots revenge and the stage is set for a bloody journey through betrayal and vengeance towards a final confrontation and the possibility of redemption.

Only God Forgives looks set to be one of the most controversial films of the year, and looks destined to divide audiences and critics.

Only God Forgives is released 2nd August.
