It was in December last year when Star Wars fever once again swept the globe as Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit the big screen and was a massive critical and commercial smash.

Next year, we are going to see Star Wars: Episode VIII released. However, if that is too long of a wait, then make sure that you don't miss Rogue One: A Star Wars Story this December.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first spin-off, is set after events of A New Hope and will introduce us to some fantastic new characters. It really does look like it is going to be another action-packed ride.

The movie marks the return of Gareth Edwards to the director's chair for what will be the third feature film of his career. He has already brought us Monsters and Godzilla but this will be the biggest film of his career to date.

Following in the footsteps of The Force Awakens, Rogue One will feature a female central character as Oscar-nominated actress Felicity Jones will bring the role of Jyn Erso to life.

We have seen Jones in the likes of The Theory of Everything and The Invisible Woman in recent years, but Rogue One is set to be her biggest film and role that will send her star rocketing even higher.

The cast list is a great mix of young stars and more established talent as Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Riz Ahmed, Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk, and Donnie Yen are all on board.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story tells the story of how a group of unlikely heroes unite to undertake a daring and seemingly impossible mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was a huge hit at the recent Comic-Con and looks on course to be one of the biggest films of the year.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is released 16th December.
