Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet

Romeo & Juliet is the greatest love story of all time and a new imagining of the tale is coming to the big screen this year.

Julian Fellowes has adapted the William Shakespeare play and this time around Carlo Carlei is in the director's chair.

Two up and coming and exciting talents have been cast in the title roles as Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth will play the star crossed lovers.

And the first trailer for the movie has been released:

Steinfeld made splash back in 2011 when she starred, and picked up an Oscar nomination for her performance, in True Grit.

We haven't seen her back on the big screen since that success but 2013 is set to be a great year as this is not her only high profile movie.

British actor Douglas Booth is best known for his TV work and roles in The Pillars of the Earth and Great Expectations and this is set to be the biggest film role of his career to date.

Steinfeld and Booth are joined by an all star cast as Damien Lewis, Paul Giamatti, Stellan Skarsgard and Ed Westwick are all set to star.

Julian Fellowes already has an Oscar to his name as he picked up Best Original Screenplay for his work on Gosford Park.

Since then he has gone on to write for films Vanity Fair and The Young Victoria as well as being the creator of TV smash Downton Abbey.

Romeo & Juliet is a tale that has been adapted for the big screen many times but this exciting cast - especially the young leads - look set to breath new life into this well known tale.
