Argo was the toast of Hollywood once again last night as the it picked up the gong for Cast In A Motion Picture at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

This comes just a fortnight after it picked up Best Picture - Drama and Best Director at the Golden Globes and it is now well and truly in the Oscar race.

Ben Affleck may have been overlooked for Best Director at the Oscar but Argo is not in prime position to possible walk away with Best Picture next month.

It was also a huge night for Lincoln as it picked up Best Actor for Daniel Day Lewis and Best Supporting Actor for Tommy Lee Jones.

Daniel Day Lewis is picking up gongs left, right and centre for his performance as Abraham Lincoln in the movie and is now red hot favourite to pick up a third Best Actor Oscar.

The Best Supporting Actor category was wide open and Tommy Lee Jones saw off the competition from Alan Arkin (Argo), Javier Bardem (Skyfall), Robert De Niro (Silver Linings Playbook) and Philip Seymour Hoffman (The Master).

There was also more awards success for Jennifer Lawrence as she picked up the Best Actress gong for her superb role in Silver Linings Playbook.

It seems that there is only two women in the Oscar race for Best Actress; Lawrence and Jessica Chastain.

They both picked up a Golden Globe a fortnight ago but it was Lawrence who was triumphant last night.

Anne Hathaway was the favourite for the Best Supporting Actress SAG and she waltzed away with another prize for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables - I think the Oscar is most likely to follow.

There was also some awards success for Skyfall as it picked up the award for Outstanding Performance By A Stunt Ensemble In A Motion Picture.
