Split

Sadly, we are going to have to wait until the beginning of 2017 before the film hits the big screen, but the brand new trailer for the film has arrived.

We all know that Shyamalan is great when it comes to creating atmosphere and tension and this first trailer really is quite a creepy watch.

James McAvoy is set to take on the central role of Kevin and you can see him in action in this new trailer. Take a look:

As well as being in the director's chair for Split, Shyamalan has penned the screenplay and will serve as the producer on the film.

Shyamalan has brought us movies such as The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs during his career and Split is his first feature since The Visit last year. The movie also marks the first time that the director has teamed up with McAvoy.

The director has brought together an exciting cast as Anya Taylor-Joy, Betty Buckley, Jessica Sula, and Haley Lu Richardson will star alongside McAvoy.

While the mental divisions of those with dissociative identity disorder have long fascinated and eluded science, it is believed that some can also manifest unique physical attributes for each personality, a cognitive and physiological prism within a single being.

Though Kevin (McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others.

Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey (Taylor-Joy), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him - as well as everyone around him - as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.

Split is released 20th January 2017.
