The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club, which was released back in 1985, is a movie that paved the way for the teen films that we see on the big screen today.

John Hughes was behind the camera and he made a movie that looked at the ideas and feelings of teenagers of that time - not to mention that the movie introduced audiences to the Brat Pack.

My like Rebel Without A Cause did in the fifties the movie gave a voice to teens who felt that they were alienated and lost.

Hughes wasn't afraid to look at the issues and the problems that faced the teens of the time, bringing an audiences face to face with what kids at the time were dealing with.

And just as Rebel Without A Cause thirty years before teenagers were still lost, confused and wondering where they belonged in society.

Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, and Judd Nelson were just some of the names on the cast list and they really did create incredibly real characters.

The characters were very much of their time and this was a movie that so many teens of the eighties could connect with.

And while the movie may tackles issues that transcend it's time it is done so in a funny way that keeps the movie light and entertaining.

Not surprisingly the movie has endured it's ideas are still as relevant today in 2012 as they were back in19985

The Breakfast Club is the ultimate teen movie and it was the benchmark for all the other teen movies that followed.
