Reese Witherspoon has a very busy 2015 ahead of her with a whole host of film projects on the horizon... and she is back on the big screen this week with new drama The Good Lie.

The Good Lie

The Good Lie

The Good Lie sees Witherspoon team up with filmmaker Philippe Falardeau for the first time, as he returns to the director's chair for the first time since Monsieur Lazhar back in 2011.

The movie is based on the true story of the 'Lost Boys' of Sudan, who were orphaned by the civil war that raged there from 1983.Fifteen years later, a humanitarian effort would bring 3600 lost boys and girls to America.

The Good Lie follows three refugees who come to America and are met and cared for by Carrie Davis - played by Witherspoon.

We are big fans of Witherspoon here are FemaleFirst and she features in this exclusive new clip from the film:

The Good Lie is a heart-warming and touching story about trying to adapt to a new life, while looking at the challenges of the American welfare system. While Witherspoon is the 'star' of the film, it is the performances by Arnold Oceng, Ger Duany, and Emmanuel Jal as refugees Mamere, Jeremiah, and Paul that really do standout.

Duany and Jal were real life Lost Boys - Jal was forced to become a child soldier before he fled the country in 1993.

The Good Lie premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, before going on to play at the Greenwich International Film Festival. On the festival circuit, the movie has been met with a positive response and now it is hitting the big screen.

We have already seen Witherspoon enjoy success so far this year with Wild and the Oscar winning actress delivers another great performance in The Good Lie.

The Good Lie is out now.
